Liggett Law Group is proud to help sponsor the 10th Annual Vamos A Pescar, Lets Go Fishing Event On August 11, 2018. The event allows families and groups of friends to come together and create memories.
Vamos A Pescar was founded in honor of the late Gonzalo Garcia Sr. While he was a loving and dedicated father, the demands of farming prevented him from being a part of family outings and activities. Gonzalo Garcia’s son, Frank Garcia, invited friends, family, and many active organizations to form Los Hermanos Familia (The Brothers and Family), an association of male volunteers who value God, family, and community.
Together, in 2009, they coordinated the “Vamos A Pescar” (Let’s Go Fishing) fishing event to bring dads together with their children/families. The event is completely free, requiring no license, no registration fee, and no cost for lunch so as not to hinder families or discourage participation in the event. The event was a hit and drew 1,800 participants. On it’s 10th anniversary, this year’s event will be dedicated to first responders.
This year, Liggett Law Group is sponsoring the event, subsidizing local celebrity DJ Sancho’s attendance at the event and conducting a meet and greet with fans. Participants can stop by the Liggett Law Group tent for a free autograph with DJ Sancho.
Anyone interested in participating in Vamos A Pescar is encouraged to pre-register online at www.letsgofishinglubbock.com. Participants can also register onsite at the fishing event, which will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Buddy Holly Lake.
The event is completely free – families only need to bring their own fishing poles. For first time fishers and anyone who’s a little rusty, there will be mini fishing lessons available from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Master Angler Instructors.
